Is this odd to you?

Post by Set »

This is a werewolf board. What I can't quite figure out is why I stay here. The people are nice, yes, but the one thing everyone has in common here is a love of werewolves. The thing is wolves have always been the bane of my existance. The reasons are too complicated to explain here, and may come across as sounding completely crazy anyway.

Wolves have always been a source of pain for me yet somehow I cannot bring myself to hate them. Their domesticated equivalent, however, I despise with every fiber of my being. (And despite this I have three dogs. They're my mother's, really... Except for the male. He's mine.) What I don't understand is why I can't hate them, and why I can't bring myself to leave. I want to hate them like I do with dogs. I just can't do it.

1st off, I will never hate the wolf. Nothing will make me hate it.

2nd, This happens to be a really fun forum. I enjoy it emensly!!! Its not the love of werewolves thats keeping me here. Its the companionship of other werewolf fans like me.

I've learned a few things about werewolves in this forum. Even met some new online friends.

So stick around. You know you love to stay at this forum. :knockedout:

If I took the time to wonder about the oddity of half the things I do, I'd never get anything done. (I say this while I'm completely wet from standing in the rain.)

If you like hanging around here, then stay here. Who cares about how odd it is?

I know this is gonna sound kind of wierd, but you guys can almost pass by as family :D I have never met anyone who was obssesed about werewolves as much as me, and I learned alot about werewolves, and you all understand my obssesion, unlike my dad, lately I talk to you guys as much as I do with my dad and mom, in a half a year, and its only been 3 weeks, oh the reason why cant really hate wolves and dogs cause.......well look at thier eyes  thier so cute, and thier furry as soft, its impossible for me to stay mad. Unless wolves did something terrible to you or some love one, its not human nature to be mad at something so cute, you can dislike them, you can be annoyed at them, but staying mad at them, now thats hard. One time my dog chewed up my favroite action figure when I was a kid, and I only stayed mad at him for 2 days, now I cant even stay mad at him an hour.

The thing is I love wolves/werewolves for no reason except my own I see all these movies portraying them as malevolent creatures with no soul, but despite that I still love them they in my oppinion are the pinical of success. Wolves for centuries have been assosciated with the wild and, incuruptability of nature and her beauties. The reason man has not been able to accept wolves is because their unwillingness to become tame, like their relatives. This might be the reason reuline hates dogs because they are tame and she longs for the wilds and unpredictable.

Wo if I offended you reuline I'am sorry just a old psycolodgy course I took, it will go back in the depths of my mind now. :)

First, I have a hard time hating creatures. We were coming home from talking with judge today (I can fret about that later here when the court deciedes with what they will do to me, oh, and I didn't do anything wrong if your thinking that.) and we stopped by at the shelter just because it was there. So I walk into the cages of the cat room, and petted a very nice tabby, and then creid. He was going to be put down soon if not adopted, I knew everywhere they are dieing but for some reason I couldn't stand the fact that this little furry person was going. I petted every cat, they were all so nice, and before I knew it I was standing there crying as all the cats stared at me.
Damn, I'm just too fluffy!

While this forum, well, who could leave? I have hardly an offline life during the summer anyway (at school was the llama club!), so for now these weirdos are my only friends, I need a life.

Wolves generate strong emotion for you, Reilune. Sometimes a strong aversion is paradoxically a sign of kinship. I can think of a few things to which I've had a tremendous sense of aversion only to come back and admire greatly. (I used to be a terrible arachnophobe, for example. But, I also found even at the time spiders fascinating.)

Wolves are what dogs once were, before they were bred down. I use the cocker spaniel as an example of why evolution is adaptation, not neccessarily improvement, since the cocker evolved from the wolf.

Werewolves have the added perk of dealing with the "no, this isn't me" being dragged kicking-and-screaming into the canine realm quality. It could be that somehow on some level, there's a kinship with canines, but there's another part of you that is bothered by the idea, because it would involve rethinking identity.

OK, Roz, who's our next caller?

I think I might know what you're going through. I have a pretty bad history with domestic canines too (which may have something to do with my preference in werecats). For example, my mother has promised "no more dogs" twice in the last five years, and the second time, she not only broke her promise six months after making it, she emptied my bank account to buy the damn thing. And that's just the chip off the iceberg in terms of the canine behavior my family has forced me to suffer through, but at the same time I can't help but admire wolves.

So I've concluded that I don't hate dogs. Just the ones I've been exposed to thus far, and more accurately, the people that spoiled them rotten and then forced me into situations where I had to suffer the presence of their blunders. It's not that I dislike dogs; I just haven't met one I could tolerate yet.

Maybe it's the same thing with you. Is it dogs or dog owners that have been giving you crap the most?

Well that is a very complicated matter indeed. You could say that they did, but it is not something I feel like talking about right now.

Identity is probably the one thing I've had the most issues with. There was a time when I was still thinking about the possibility of me being a therian. I thought perhaps I was one of the many wolves. Since then that theory has fallen apart, but I did think for a time that I was a wolf of some sort. I'm not sure how I ever came to that conclusion, I am nothing like a wolf. If anything I resemble a cat (behavior wise anyway).

I used to dream about wolves all the time. Recently though the dreams have nearly stopped. I've only seen one wolf lately, and it was a werewolf who barged into a church for some reason. And well...there was that one dream where I had the words "white wolf" (as in a wolf with a white coat, not those nutters who tried to sue the people who made Underworld) tattooed on my back in Japanese, but there were other animals too. (Because I feel like sharing you'll have to put up with this bit in parentheses. On my collarbone was a picture of a fox's face. The odd thing about it was the guy who was looking at it had called it a "kitsune" and not just "fox". There was a tiger's head on the back of my neck where it met the spine. On my right shoulderblade, going from the top down, was the names of three animals tattooed in Japanese. They were black bear, white wolf, and eagle. The dude who was looking at them had called them exactly that. The only one he said something I didn't expect about was the fox.)
Terastas wrote:Is it dogs or dog owners that have been giving you crap the most?
It's the dogs themselves. I never did particularly like pack animals, but dogs get on my nerves the most. I hate everything about them. Their smell, the things they do, their cringing submissiveness, and especially how they're in my face ALL THE TIME. I have to keep kicking them out of the house in order to get just five dog-free minutes.

ABUSER!! lol.
no but the reason why its around you so much is because, animals usually have unconditional love. a dog is not gonna have many better things to do, like play video games and watch movies. mabey your just not a canine person, ifd you want a pet that would give you some room, then try a cat.

Not really, animals can hate too.

And try a cat? You must not have a cat or something because let me tell you, these things are in your face all the time. Appareantly last Sunday at the cat rescue I walked away from a snuggle session with Mr. Peg and he ran up to me and climbed up my pants, I had this cat clung to my thiegh.

Yep. Between my two cats, I have to lock myself into the bathroom with the laptop sometimes to get some privacy.

Opie makes sure to escort my Kat and Dad to the bathroom in the morning. Then Opie always loves to sleep in the bathroom or watch me go, sheesh, what do you want Opie? Often times Oliver comes over to sleep what I'm working on or doing, including the laptop.

Yes, my cats always want to now what I'm doing. In fact, there's one sitting on my monitor looking at me right now.

reasons why I stay here

1.
The people here very nice and are always up for a good laugh, not to mention that alot of them have the same intrest that I do and alot of them have inspired some things in my life

2.
wolves are one of my most favorite animals, nothing can change that
they are so gracefull and I have always been comfurtable around them because I love anything that looks like a dog for the simple fact that I lived with dogs all my life

3.
werewolves have the same effect on my as wolves do, they are a spiritaul being to me and they have never frightened me, they may be portaryed wrong in movies but really its probly just their physical attributes that are diffrent from humans

4.
once again im pointing out that the people at this thread are some of the nicest people I know, and I would like to say that you are all like a family too me

long live the pack :howl: :oo

Alright, alright I'm not leaving. So stop trying to convince me to stay.

I have a cat. She's just as bad as the dogs.

And since I mentioned it in another topic, I'm just gonna go ahead and rant about Fenrir (as in the myth, not the guy who posts here). He is the source of alot of my issues with wolves. Now what follows is going to sound completely insane, but my beliefs are...unique. I am a clairvoyant. I see things, I know things. I'm extremely old and have had many past lives.

A long time ago, I don't remember when, I met Fenris. (or Fenrir. Whatever.) From the moment we saw eachother there was nothing but the deepest hatred for the other. We despise one another more than anything else. I'm not sure as to the reason why, I have since forgotten. I'm sure that once he breaks loose he will attempt to kill me first provided no one gets in the way. A prophecy that has been read to me in recent years seems to confirm this. It appeared in a vision. If I win, then I shall decide the fate of the world. At least according to the two strange messengers who read it to me. I don't remember a thing about them, except the fact that they were both male. I saw them again after that but what they said the second time isn't something you need to know.

If someone kills him before he can tear my throat out then it would save me quite a bit of effort. I will still have to deal with the other monsters of the apocalypse, but none of them have as good of a chance of killing me as Fenrir. However I must admit I would be disappointed if it wasn't me that killed him, despite the fact that the odds of me doing so are positively abysmal. Do you know what it's like to live with the fact you're most likely going to have to endure (yet another) gruesome and painful death?

At the very least I should like to neuter his father, Loki. He'll be lucky if that's all I do to him. We don't need anymore repeats of that mange-ridden hairball.

As to how I would even have the ability to fight back is another thing that was foretold in the prophecy. It tells of great power lying dormant, power which will awaken when the apocalypse finally comes. I think I know where this power comes from. It's source, however, was not mentioned in the prophecy. What's the source? I am a demigod. Half god. I am Anubis' daughter. He told me this himself. If you don't believe me then go ask him. It doesn't matter to me if you think I'm a deluded psycho, I know all this to be true. Beware of the dangerous half-breeds...

No, I've met a very smart man on the internet who thinks the same stuff. Hes very intelligent as I've said and you can't just deny him because he sounds different than you. Same for Reilune, though I don't know about her beleifs much, I'm not going to doubt people.
