Earlier in chat today, I tossed out the idea that we should have a planned hunt one day, with the whole pack online...

that quickly evolved into an idea of a full scale epic length RP war of weres vs humans/hunters.

everything is still in the works, as far as:

how combat would work (i think those in chat thought a d20 approach would be best, but my net crapped out and i wasn't able to catch the end of that conversation)

the back story/how it would come into play (whether it be pre-written, or played out as part of the game)

whether it would be in a separate chat room transcribed to threads, or just written out as a normal thread RP (the thought tossed out was that people in threads tend to like to write long detailed entries, one player at a time, slowly over time, which might not flow as nicely in a warlike setting as a frantic, excited pace)

who would GM it - i tossed out the idea, and i'd be more than happy to help with story lines or plot details, but i have no experience in these things and the grand scale on which it's taken deserves the attention of someone better than i

what time and how often this would happen, if it was in a chat room

everything was all over the place in chat today, so aside from concerns and suggestions i dont think anything actually got decided other than that redeye's weres would be a good type to work with because it would be more entertaining if the odds were even and there is actually a chance of weres dying/the pack losing a battle.

so basically: thoughts? comments? volunteers? interested/not?

We didn't really get much further, but yeah, I feel that D20 is a bit of a more solid basis than Fighting Fantasy.

Some of the rest of what I suggested was that we start from the beginning, so rather than plopping everyone right in the middle of a fight, we start at some neutral point, say, just prior to the werewolf players first transforming or something.

Another thing I suggested was for every player to have 2 character slots, so they can play a werewolf and a human, a hunter and a human, or two humans. And then, I don't know, limit how the two can interact to avoid insanity. I know some RPs do that, I'll need to search around to see how they handle it.

We bounced around on whether to have a thread, or use the chat, but never really decided anything.

Though yeah, this still needs more planning.

This idea sounds pretty awesome! I would love to join and would be more than happy to help plan and organize or just play, whatever works. It just sounds like a lot of fun.

it probably would be easier playing from "the beginning", but I don't know if going back to before they transformed is too far or not...

in my head, i was picturing something like that there was an established pack with a set territory that was being encroached on by a, or a set of, growing human settlements/towns/cities. it starts off as a simple matter of border skirmishes between the townsfolk and the wolves but grows into something more when the humans, in human fashion, want to clear the area in one fell swoop, possibly killing some of the wolves, or, if it wasn't one big pack but a few smaller ones, decimating one with few if any survivors who must then rally the rest of the wolves to help them.

i know theres a lot of what ifs and buts, but that was my general idea... it took flight from there, and it might not be a good basis anymore, but i figured i'd toss it out for people to see
