Collars

do you think it would be cool to wear a collar while being a werewolf or would it cramp its style???

Heh I don't know about that one. Wearing a collar is a fashion statement, which means that you intend to be seen. Other werewolves might think you're an oddball. But for normals, if you had the right collar, it could be disarming to anyone who saw you, which has its pros and cons.

A cute doggy collar with a brass heart or something would certainly be surreal. "Oh god! Someone's pet turned into a monster!"

For a werewolf that wears any sort of other clothing at all, a collar would look kind of dumb though.

I voted no.

No. Second only to a license, a leash, or one of those outfits little girls make dogs wear at tea parties, what else could be more demeaning?

I HATE COLLARS!!! I can't even stand neckties; it feels like I'm being choked. No No No No!! Never should a werewolf be subjegated to something so cruel.

Although if there was some crazy one who actually liked it (I can't belive there'd be a werewolf out there that would) it's his choice.

Proven points

I would think the majority would not want to wear any. But, it depends on the individual. Could be a werewolf fashion statement. :)
Lots of different collars to choose from; leather, spiked, chain, some cheap one from PetsMart  License optional

I voted no but i just don't think that i would wear a collar but it depends on the werewolf. If i was a werewolf than who knows i might. i am an oddball though. Of course if i was a werewolf i would be running in the rain right now.

Nope. I just don't like the look of collars, they aren't my style.

Any werewolf in my pack will wear one when running streetside...they don't want me to have to bail them out of doggy jail. Especially since they charge more for un-"fixed" pets. :evillaugh:

Agreed. It depends.

Only if it looks like a gorget.

Collar: No. I don't know why I'd need one, other than a flea collar.

Dog tags: Only if I somehow look cool, although if I were a werewolf stalking around at night, the last thing I would need is for some light to shine off of it and give away my position.

I voted no, because I see no point. Even so, I wear a necktie almost every day, so if I needed to wear a collar I wouldn't mind.

The only time I'd wear a collar is if I were wearing a tie. Without a collar, a tie looks...wierd; not to mention that the other packmembers would point and snicker.

I think a werewolf wearing a collar would be just as varying as humans wearing a collar. Some of us here think it's a fashion statement (in fact, I'm considering getting one designed somewhere in the future.), and most people think it's demeaning.

Otherwise, a collar's size can easily be adjusted before shifting to avoid choking. A collar may also be used as Pack Identification (which is almost moot, given a wolve's talent to identify through smell.) And, in a fantasy/sci-fi setting, a super-collar could hypothetically be used to curb unwanted shifting.

Otherwise, for a werewolf, a collar might be the only accessorie that could last through long hours romping in the woods.

I dont like the idea of a collar because it makes shifting complicated. Too much adjusting of the sizes.

However, I think a good collar with ID tags is essential for anyone who could change into a wolf. Just to have it somewhere handy inc ase there is ever a time when they need to pose as a dog. Obviously with a fake "dog" name on it.

Not right now, but by 2020 or 2030, I could probably stuff a cell phone, mp3 player, full-fledged computer, and various other gadgets in one, thus thinning my human form's pocket quite a bit. Add a digital economy and electronic ID, and a wallet would be virtually eliminated. All I'd need would be a place to stuff a change of clothing.

Actually, with all that in your collar; why wear anything else in either shape?

One serious porblem there: a dog flea collar would be ineffective on a Werewolf due to the size of the Wulf versus that of a dog.
Then, too; in Smoothskin, they'd be poisonous.
My suggestion: Revert and shower with a strong sulfur-based soap like people do when they have fleas. In Smooth, there wouldn't be anywhere for the fleas to hide ( except for maybe two locations, and the soap would get them there, too).
