Posting naughty stuff.

Okay, I am thrilled today because I finally get to be an Admin and set a guideline for posting here.

I personally have no problems with anyones kinks, or fetishes, to each their own, but there is a problem in describing it in detail on this forum.

This site was originally designed for discussing the werewolf myth, legend, and whatnot for the purposes of the film in preparation.

I've had to delete a couple of posts. I had to make this decision, and it was a hard one to make. The film might be rated a soft R, but only because its hard to have a transformation without seeing 'anything at all', also because of blood, or horror genre.

If there is any kind of werewolf lovemaking, it will be done for the futherment of the plot, and not to work in some new kinks. Sexy, and kinky are two different things in my opinion. So, I'm going by this new rule.

Any posts that contain sexually explicit material. (i.e. describing detailed sexual acts outside of anatomical discussion regarding werewolf design) will be deleted. Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news folks. But distributors and investors look at this site to keep up with things. And I would like not give the impression that we're contemplating kinky wolf sex porn.

So keep any sexual based topics to a PG-13 nature.. Talking about science, and how and what a werewolf might look like is fine for this forum. But please help me out here, and keep any written sex scenes out of the forums.

I'm such a bad bad person. But I just can't help myself.

One more thing.

The defninition of porn, as it pertains to this site, is anything that would get an MMPA rating of NC-17. The guidelines are pretty firm, believe me I know.

Again, talking OF a sexual kink isnt an issue, describing it in detail would be.

However, should someone have something of that nature that they want to share. I have no problems with them posting a link to a site that 'if the reader choosed" they could go get more information.

By no means is this an unresonable rule. We here on the forum are interacting with the profesional world, therefore we need to be expected to behave profesionally, much like employee's would be in an office environment.

It's not exactly the same of course. We're given some lee-way due to the subjects we're tackling. However we cannot expect others to take us seriously if we don't adhere to some standards of profesionalism.

I don't mean to sound high and mighty or anything. Simply put, my father was a buisnessman and he's instilled in my some of those idea's about profesionalism and such. So to me this seems fairly basic, although I'm perfectly aware that I'm not exactly normal.

Er, anyhow, I better stop here before I rant any further. Goodnight everyone.

I'd like to add something about posting in this forum.

Racism.

There is no need for that here. I had to delete several posts because of that. Going off topic is normal in any forum. But to go from a cartoon character to racism is just plain silly. I also add to lock a thread. I never thought I would do such a thing.

Being a Pack representative takes a lot of responsibility. Trying to keep order in this forum happens to be one of my tasks.

When this forum grows, there will be a need for moderators.

If you feel anything should be added, please note it here.

Frankly, while I can understand your actions, I am rather upset about the censorship that was applied in that thread. I don't feel that anything said was blatently racist, and if the discussion toed the line, well, then a simple warning to end the discussion should have sufficed. If the warning was not heeded, then it might have been appropriate to delete the offending posts, or lock the topic.

It seems to me that deleting posts is a rather serious and drastic action to take. To tell the truth, I am rather offended that my posts were deleted, as I feel it was both unnecessary and degrading. Nothing I said was even close to out of line. I would point out that this was not a racist discussion, but rather a discussion about evidence for or against the presence of racism in a cartoon (and I would point out, the large majority of the discussion was against the existence).

Perhaps it was appropriate to end that discussion, but I feel deleting the posts involved was rather rude, especially since no prior notice or warning was given.

Anyway, that's just how I feel.

What's done is done, and I'm not going hold it against you.

I'm sorry that you felt that way. After deleteing the negative posts, I had to delete the responces to them. Makes sence, ya?

If you think my actions is rude, let me tell you what happened to me. I joined a forum and responded to an old post. Next day it was deleted because that forum had rules about bringing old topics back to the top. I said nothing wrong in that post.

Now that is rude.

I think you're both rude. I think I'm rude too.. Let's all be rude this is my party.

Honestly, Fig should give proper warning before locking a forum.. But I applaud his efforts to keep things nice. Thank you Fig.

Yeah, but one of the things I'm trying to say is that I don't think the 'negative' posts were worthy of deletion either. If I were in the position of the author of those posts, I think I would have been equally offended, if not more so.

I've heard this before, and I agree: that is rude, providing you had no opportunity to review the rules. And even if you had the opportunity, it still would have been more polite to give a warning, or some such, beforehand.

Anyway, all I'm trying to say is to consider how the person on the receiving end feels. If I had been a new poster and my posts had been deleted as they were, there would have been no doubt: I would have left as surely as you left the site you mentioned above. Even if I had merely witnessed someone else's posts being deleted in such a manner, I would have reconsidered my stay.

To delete someone's post is to essentially say: "Your words and your viewpoint are not welcome here."

Even so, I can't help but be a bit frustrated by this.

Yes, I should give proper warning. Sorry, I went ahead of myself.

Don't feel bad, everyone has to start somewhere, and you have been at this for a relatively short time. Everyone makes mistakes, and I have certainly seen worse moderators!

Learn from mistakes, and Keep up the Good Work.

But I'm willing to help out, I guess.

I think Fig should of given proper warning, yet I don't see wrong in his efforts. The one about shapeshifting was starting to get nasty, and apparently he posted only seconds before I decided to reply -- if I had gotten to writing the post it most likely would of been rude. That one held bad stuff in its future right away, and thus needed to be locked. In my opinion that one got unnecesary.

This is a fun forum, and should not be a place for heavy debates. A section for heavy, yet not overly horible, debates and discussions could be made. For topics such as politics and controversy. Theres a limit to where the things should go.

Fig shouldn't feel bad for any decisions he makes with a good intention to keep these forums a great place.

Oh no no no no! Lets keep this a fun forum. No section for heavy debates will be made.

Not that anyone will notice this post after this thread has been up for so long, but I'm just now kind of going back through all the old threads and history and you guys are having some interesting conversations here! Something fascinating happened at some point that I was not privy too and it only makes me wonder and you all handled it so smoothly! Studying people and their behaviors in the past is truly fascinating sometimes :o We can all learn from each others pasts.

Well I'm glad whatever it is has passed and all I can see of this forum now so far in newer posts is fun stuff and actually this is still the only forum I have ever been on that I have stayed on. I was made to feel welcome with I first joined and even still to this day I feel welcome and somehow at peace. I'm still trying to debate wether I want to create a werewolf persona for the soul sake of this forum. We shall see but so far I kind of like it here. Thanks again for making me feel welcome although I have no idea what that has to do with the topic of this thread :o

I just found this one and would like to say that there is no proublem with that, infact its a good thing because children these days are able to surf the internet without supervision and if explicit meterial is found then the parents could be offened and it would look bad on us.
Pretty much just saying that props to ya :D

Conversation From another Thread.

Renorei wrote:Also, IMO, this place is a little too kid-friendly. It's far too rigidly PG Rated, at least as far as I'm concerned. Can we chill a little bit on the over-moderating of content that could possibly be adult? This is a forum about werewolves after all, those aren't exactly kiddy friendly creatures.
I think this subject is sufficiently charged that it might be more appropriate to start a new thread or resurrect an existing one to discuss it.
Fang wrote:Renorei If you want to make this a more adult site, what will happen to us teenagers who are Fourteen to seventeen who add very good content to this site. Renori, It sounds Like you want to turn this site from an open free speech environment, to a cold and harsh dictatorship where voicing my opinions could get me banned, I don't want that, you would probably ban me for being gay too, wouldn't you.
Oh, what twisty logic! Anyway, let's save that and replies to it for the other thread I mentioned above.
Just what kind of content do you want to post?

PORN? ...Spilling Intenstines Level GORE?...

Besides the fact that I think more than 50% of our membership is 'Underage', I, as a Grown Adult, Dont want to Read it and don't want to See it.

:P

This place has been a friendly meeting place for ALL werewolf fans since it was created back in November of 2004, and I see absolutely no reason not to Keep it that way.

...Anyone who's 'Immature' enough to NEED to Post Pictures, Stories, or just talk Sick and Dirty can do it on the other 75% of the internet. We don't need any of that garbage here.

We can have perfectly mature and inteligent conversations about death, sexuality, religion, and the inevitable results of being mauled to death by a creature with large claws (IE: "Disembowelment") without resorting to pictures and conversations that need to exeed (PG) guidelines.

I see absolutely no reason to change the format of our friendly forum to one that is 'Adults Only'. We would have to lock out and ban half of our members if we did that. ...or risk getting said members, and ourselves, in deep trouble for exposing our existing youth membership to such foul content.

"The Pack" is PG...maybe 'PG-13'... It is not that diffictult to discuss 'R' rated Films and stories without stooping to 'inappropriate' levels.

...and anything "X" rated has no buisness being anywhere on here...EVER...

Thank you.

...and I'm sorry for sounding so demanding. I should have at least said "please".

Besides...I have no authority here. No one has to what I say.

You know, I never did understand the point of language censors.

Is '(Bleep)' or 'F*&!' really any less offensive when the context is obvious? Not to me.

I can only think of two good reasons for a language filter:

1) Remind the poster that they've crossed the line so that they can re-think their response, or

2) Embarrass the thoughtless poster.

Of the two, the second is not only a lot more fun, but much more effective.

Are we sending the message that swearing is fine so long as it's obfuscated? I think it should either be 100% allowed, or 100% not tolerated.

But that's just my opinion.
