I could understand it for Ashley. She's mentally nothing more than a baby.
The bit about the treatment used in the 60's and 70's to make girls shorter struck me as more appalling. Screwing with someone else's body for no good reason other than cosmetic is wrong (whereas with Ashley there were more pragmatic reasons) unless, of course, they've consented to such. *shrug*

People's wants and desires change. OR it could be hindsight. Now that they got a taste of tallness they decided shorter is better.Set wrote:It wasn't the bit about the girl that made me go. It was the cosmetic thing. Not that long ago people were injecting themselves (and their children!) with hormones to make them taller, now they want to shrink? What the hell? Surely I'm not the only one who thinks there's something wrong with that.
But I'd bet more on the changing desires of people. I mean, way back when people didn't wear much, then a little later on we covered ourselves up alot and it was indecent not to cover up like that, now we're going back towards wearing less (Aside from when it's cold, of course) etc.
