Who didn't see this one coming? It's only a matter of time before Google aims for MySpace, and the kings of the 1990s (Yahoo! / MSN / Amazon.com) can duke it out with the kings of the 2000s (Google / YouTube / MySpace) for control of Space/Time. The Temporal War is on! Now, where's Captain Archer and the Doctor with the TARDIS?

Ive read about this at my other forum yesterday. Im not really shure what to think of it. Google might delete some of the copyrighted materials in tyoutube which is stupid, why cant we just watch an entire movie or show from the internet? Plus theres a company already treatening to sue youtube for copyright infringement, typical. I actually thought google was doing good with google video, apperantly not. As long Google doesnt mess with youtube too much then Im ok with it. Spending 1.5 billion dollars is a big jump for google.

(NASDAQ: GOOG) announced today that it has agreed to acquire YouTube, the consumer media company for people to watch and share original videos through a Web experience, for $1.65 billion in a stock-for-stock transaction. Following the acquisition, YouTube will operate independently to preserve its successful brand and passionate community.
