Horrible day Sunday. In my opinion, worst day of the week. Why is that Dudley?

I woke up this morning only to have my mother come in and tell me my dog died. Then, I go to get my mom some crackers and summer sausage, only to end up nearly slicing my finger off. After that my mother offers to get me some ice cream. So we go to the store, and I get a drink out of one of the machines. They were out of the one I wanted so I got something else. When I opened it up it fizzed and spilled half of it out of the can and all over my hands. When we finally got that ice cream she turns and says to me "You know I'm not paying for that right?" Cheap a** jerk. She made me pay for it. Then we get home only to have to unload feed from the truck, at which point the finger I sliced is super sore, and thus hurt like hell when she made me help her.

And that was my day. Is it any wonder I think life sucks?

I remember when Sundays were great. Sure, I'd get to dread Mondays, but at least Sundays were in and of themselves nice days.

Not any more.

I swore I'd never work another Superbowl Sunday. But, here I am, in the ER, working.

I get hammered on Sundays. Tons of people pour in on Sunday nights, ensuring that I'm dead tired and useless the following day. And, I can assure you that a lot of other people are having bad days, too, because they're here, in the ER. The day started with three ambulances back to back. I started off the day feeling like crap and wanting to go run off into the woods, where nobody needs anything from me. I've been feeling that way most of the day. Oddly enough, I feel better now that it's evening.

I've had breaks, mind you. (You'll notice that I've made a number of posts dated today.) My work isn't really that hard moment to moment. (OK, I was baffled on a strange eye problem, but I called an ophthalmologist.) But, it's a marathon. I'll spend whole days at work--and I mean day as in 24 hours, plus the hour and a half driving each direction. On occasion I've postponed the trip home to avoid driving while fatigued.

But no, I'm not going uphill in the snow. Nor am I trying to compete with anyone else's hardships. I'm just agreeing that U2 had it right, on a Sunday Bloody Sunday...

How long, how long must we sing this song; how long, how long...

Out of curiousity, where exactly do you stand when it comes to canines? I am simply intrigued, because in other threads you've indicated that you hate canines, and yet you have one, and seem upset over its death. Anyway, I'm just fascinated by how exactly you feel about them.

As for me, my day wasn't so bad. I didn't get anything useful accomplished, but that's normal for me. Me and some friends went and had lunch at Chile Verde, which is a good Mexican place. I had fajitas :D . I also practiced my Spanish while in the restaurant, which got a few laughs from the waiters (all Spanish) who happened to overhear.

Later, my friend Ashely and I finished watching Disc A of The 10th Kingdom. I'm a big fan of this miniseries. And, surprisingly it has little to do with the fact that there's a werewolf in it (don't get too excited, we never get to see him transform).

Then, I wasted time for a few hours, and then got pestered into going to a Superbowl party, which I had not planned on doing. I hated the game, loved the commercials, and left at halftime. We hung out in my apartment for awhile, then started on disc B. We got about halfway through it, and then called it quits. Afterwards, I did my accounting 213 homework. Then I started watching super bowl commercials on yahoo! and now I am doing this.

All things considered, this was a good day.

My day wasn't bad. I made a few people laugh, a few people feel uncomfortable...

I did something generally naughty last night and don't rightfully remember much more than watching Nanny McPhee in the back row of the theatre while under the influence and eating a lot of over-buttered popcorn with a theatre major, two Political Science Majors, and myself.

And I woke up this afternoon feeling happy as a clam. Though I really want to go to bed now.

Hopefully things will get better for you. Though, sh-tuff will happen.

It always does.

<My Bad-Day Story>

I mean, I got the news a few weeks ago while eating sushi, after a crappy day, that one of my friends has a brain tumor.

Yesterday he couldn't shut up about how he's going to Death Counciling and he told everyone he's very comfortable with his own passing.

There's a catch though.

I'm one of the only girls on this floor who knows he's sick and there's five of us girls who are good friends with this person.

And four of which who just might fall off the face of the earth in horror if he decides to kick the bucket anytime soon... and they'd have had no clue for the last few months that he's been diagnosed. Nor would they have the understanding that he just never worked up the will power, to make it real enough to himself, to tell them.

Whoops!

Who knows what'll happen.

Bad days happen and somebody's always got a trump to your card.

It's not the fact that life sucks, or any other middle school proverb.

It's just life.

Complete without proverbial meanings and dancing adjectives!

Eh...it's...complicated. I don't like them but I'll put up with them. Most of the dogs we've had have been my mother's. She's the one who likes them. Toby, however, was mine. He was a rescue dog. My mother wanted the female but I made her take him instead. I'm not really sure why. He was a sweetie though. He died kind of young, he was only four. It's an old picture, but this is him, the black and tan:
