It doesn't exist.
I've always wanted to say that. :)

Where did this come from?! out of the blue bam you pull this out of nowhere. And of course it's not hereditary its a mental choice, not a physical atribute.

Uhm...I think that was the point...that it doesn't exist.

It's a nice paradox though....
"hereditary" excludes by it's very nature "celibacy" (being redundant, i know.... sorry... it's a Belgian trait... )

I like it... :D

Unless of course a celibate woman is raped...although that's rather horrible to think about.

He couldn't have pulled this from nowhere because that implies that nowhere is a soruce which would make it somewhere!

Really?

“Celibacy is hereditary. If your parents didn't have sex, the chances are you won't have sex.” -Anonymous.

Well technically you can have a baby without having sex. You can reproduce by division, have both sets of organs in one body, or be artificially insemenated.

Yes. Mitosis (I think). But, as far as I know, no human has ever successfully divided. Although, if it is possible, I'd love to. Hellooooo, twin!

You're all about division? Mitosis is indeed the process, but the last thing I want are any more siblings. One is enough.

It would be quite interesting to see.

Oh I have plenty siblings. But none that look exactly like me. Although I'd only want one twin, though. Any more could get out of hand.

You could create a clone army! (I would make another star wars refrence, but that didn't work out so well last time) :D

hehe, calvin's duplicator. lol....

"Calvin: See, the box is on its side now. It's a duplicator!
Hobbes: I can picture the look on your parents' face when they find out they've suddenly had twins.
Calvin: Brother! you doubting thomases get in the way of more scientific advances with your stupid ethical questions! This is a BRILLIANT idea. Hit the button, will ya?
Hobbes: I'd hate to be accused of inhibiting scientific progress... here you go. BOINK (Scientific progress goes 'BOINK'?
No. 2: Number three, Hi! I'm number two!
No. 3: Charmed.
Hobbes: duplicator is a big success.
A Duplicate: Are you kidding? It burned out after the fifth one of us!
Calvin: Who gets the bed tonite?
Duplicates: we'll fight you for it.
Calvin: Geez, you guys! Even I don't get sent to the principal every DAY! You're making me look bad!
I'm being framed by my own doubles! The worst part is that I don't even have the fun of doing the stuff I'm being blamed for. "

This one is much funnier if you've seen the strip:

Do note that "mitosis" is the name of the process where a eukaryotic cell divides into two daughter cells, with the duplication of the chromosomes and nucleii being the key part of the process.
As all bacteria lack nucleii, they can not undergo "mitosis." Instead, most bacteria usually undergo fission, where one individual partitions out enough genomic DNA so that it can split into two, or more daughter cells. Some bacteria, like Clostridium, produce spores, and the giant bacterium Epulopiscium fishelsoni, simply buds off tiny clones of itself.

The closest thing to "hereditary celibacy" is when one some sort of genetic defect that prevents one from being able to reproduce, i.e., one suffers from aneuploidy (that is, you have Turner's , Down's or Klinefelter's Syndromes), and you can not produce gametes, or you're a woman who has Androgen Insensitivity, yackita yackita.
In other words, Mother Nature made sure She broke the mold when she made you.
