For some reason this creature has been in my head for years. I drew this around 5 years ago in high school.

Anybody seen anything like it? I'm not sure what to call it. It's like a caracal/lion/bat/gryphon....:/

A chimera, mix of different thingies. But, with a chimera, it might just be different heads...
I dunno, I'm not up to date on chimera identifying methods.
God, I love these emoticons!

God, I love these emoticons!
There great aren't they....
But it looks to me like a wolf with bat wings
but the eye looks egyptian so i would say a sphinx
no there doesn't have to be any human parts to be a
sphinx just has to have remotely lionesk parts

Chimera would definitely be my first choice.
You could call it a dragon, even though it no longer fits under modern definitions. If I recall correctly, in the past, a lot of unidentified creatures were called, simply, "dragon."
Other than that... give it your own name.

I dunno, the muzzle seems too short for a wolf. But the position does kind of remind me of the sphinx

Looks like a winged lion, except for some other cat-like elements in the head. Still, you could go sphinx, which is a fun word to say.

That was my first thought too: Either a sphinx by the
Forgotten Realms definition, or a simple winged lion. It's fairly common in the art world because it's the description given to the first of the four beasts of Revelations, and also because their pretty damn cool.

Chimera was my first thought. Though at a closer look it looks like a winged sphinx, except without the female human head.
