Hey, Wolf4Life; Reading is the way to go. For one thing, think of the Forums you can get on if you read. <Sorry, a little sarcasm> :P

Reading is a trail to follow, that leads to a feast of knowledge. You choose which knowledge you take; then you take it with your eyes, swallow it with your mind, and digest it with your spirit. Reading's fun!
It tells you which way you want to take to achieve your goals. Yeah, the beginnings are a dull chore, but so is everything else usesful.

It will enrich your inner seekings by giving you waymarks to follow as you pace quietly down the pathway that leads to yourself. 8)

Besides: if you're sitting there with a book in front of you, people won't get in your face and hassle you. You don't actually have to be reading the text- just give the impression you are, that's all. You can be doing anything, and call it reading....

I don't want to be a wanna-be moderator here, but could we stick ontopic? The subject for me is much to fragile to just run over with offtopic stuff. :P

Becuase time hasn't been on my side, I haven't been able to do it at all. :( But after that first time, I'm not sure if I want to do it again... so I have to ask, are there any other sitting or laying positions one can do that will yield the same results?

I personally always sit in a sit/laying position, but overal every comfortable sitting position will do.

errr.... I don't think meditation is for me, I gave it a try, and kinda freeked myself out, so I don't think I'm gonna do it anymore. :(

Morkluv, you're doing a good job here. From the responses, a number of Packsters have not only meditated well, but achieved breakthroughs.

It's just too bad that some people have upset themselves in the process...which kind of proves it was working.

Remember, folks; Meditation can't hurt you unless you let it. What you experience is just that: experience, not reality. You can learn a huge amount about yourself this way.

Sorry: the name should be Morkulv, not Morkluv...my bad...

I don't want to sound negative or insulting towards you, but why did you bother to share it anyway?

Its okay if you want to keep it for yourself though. Spirituality is a very personal process, but its just that usually when I see a problem posted on a forum, I take it somebody asks for help.

Old hand at meditation (grew up during the '70s). Here's a couple tips:

Touch your tongue-tip to the roof of your mouth (inside)

You can also cup your hands at navel-level.

Breathe in through the nose, out through the mouth.

You might want to burn incense or simmer potpourri to "cleanse" the room.

You can anoint yourself with essential oil if you wish. Ylang ylang and kyphi are mainstays. Just daub a drop at the third-eye (between your eyebrows), and/or over the heart.

I think its a sign your body is going into trance. I've got that as well sometimes.
