well I dont pay attention much to gendar, i didnt look at the are you a guy or girl thread, i guess i should miss figarou.Figarou wrote:You know. The people at the phpBB group should make a mod so that your name above the avatar can represent gender by color. A blue name is male. Pink name is female.
That wouldn't be very hard. You'd have to add and extra field to the user table, modify the profile settings page so you could change the field, and modify viewtopic.php to check to see if its 'f' or 'm'.Figarou wrote:You know. Hey! I actually had the idea before he said that. It just happend that his post was the third time I thought of it. I figure if I think of something more than three times it must have some merit.Figarou wrote:You need to be carefull what you say around here. Lupin might make a wolf edit to represent what you just said.
There are plenty of forums that do that kind of thing, except they use these ugly symbols by the name:Figarou wrote:You know. The people at the phpBB group should make a mod so that your name above the avatar can represent gender by color. A blue name is male. Pink name is female.

Yep, I just did it to the copy of phpBB I play around with some times, and it took me about 30 minues, mostly because I had to write the code.Vilkacis wrote: I would personally opt for adding it to the information displayed below the avatar. For example:

I'll probably end up finishing the template sometime tomorrow, as I need to upgrade the copy of phpBB I have.Figarou wrote:Lupin wrote:A roundabout way of saying I'm lazy

I keeel you. Pink is evil.Figarou wrote:You know. The people at the phpBB group should make a mod so that your name above the avatar can represent gender by color. A blue name is male. Pink name is female.
Amen sistah! Farging pink. Bleck.Reiluna wrote: I never understood why pink was supposedly a "girl's color". If any color should be associated with women it's red. We're the ones who bleed every month, and blood is red not pink. Blood magick also used to be women's magick. Just no pink, I can't stand that color.

The easiest way to do it seems to be with EasyMOD, it's all pointing and clicking:Figarou wrote:How would I place it in? I'm not sure if I can do it.
