The SPL meter is the only thing I got from them. I use it to fine tune my equipment. Each speaker's volume has to be set just right in order to enjoy full surround sound. The SPL meter helps me make sure the volume is the same with all the speakers.

nevermind, shows you what I know about home theatre, I much prefer the actual theatre it has a much better feel, but why when you set up the surround sound wouldn't they have a spl meter already installed, it seems obvious.

Not really. According to the THX DVD I have, you have a better sence of surround at home compared to the actual theater.

I should upload it so you can see for yourself.

well....some theaters are really cool. the newest ones have a harddrive instead of a film reel. Thats where you can see CGI films in 3D using special glasses.

Oh...i've got several reasons.

1st...Gotta go potty? Press the pause button.

2nd...missed what the guy said? rewind it.

3rd. you're already home when the movie is over.

4th...sounds better since the speakers are closer to you.

5th....food is better...and cheaper....since you prepared it yourself.

6th...don't have to worry about parking or long lines.

7th...crowds...can't stand them.

plus a whole lot more.

Oh, I plan on seeing Freeborn in the theaters. Don't want to miss out in all of the chat and fun once everyone sees it.

cheap? thats the way to do it if you want to save money.

Unless you want to spend over $7,000 on the receiver alone.
