Mmm. It wasn't what I expected. I started up a nation but I went in thinking, "Here's my chance to do a reboot/rethink of North America starting from the Vinland Colony." It wouldn't let me. So now I'm a tiny country in the Pacific called Sonnveld.

Did a little tweaking on the nation. Sonnveld is now a nomadic nation which would explain why we don't have regular elections.

Okay, starting to wrap my head around the concept. I approached it seriously but it's just silly. I have embraced my inner statesman
The Nomadic Peoples of Sonnveld is a corrupt dictatorship with good civil liberties and a stunning natural environment (is that possible?). We don't eat a lot of meat but we do eat Neo-Nazis for breakfast (oh, boy, was that fun...says something about real life day when dealing out blazing death to Nazi rallies with black helicopters makes one giddy). And, I just voted to give the people a tax break!

Is anybody able to get onto http://www.nationstates.net ? It's as if the site just dropped off the face of the earth. Is anybody having the same problem or is it just me being incompetent with computers (again)?

I hadn't checked my page yet. I just opened a tab and tried to log in. I got an error message that told me to check the spelling and try again. Since I have the site bookmarked, it's entered automatically and correctly whenever I hit the bookmark, so the spelling is correct.
I did get the little Nationstates logo on the tab, so it's still alive. I would imagine they got hacked. It's just a question of waiting until they get the site back up again.
I did notice the forums have been acting whonky lately, can't log in, et alia.
Pfeh! Flooie! First the E-Playa gets hacked and goes scrunch, now Nationstates! I want to check on my country! I'm having a Sonnveld-jones!
