In fact Rome was against Christians until 140AD when Constantine said he saw a vision of Jesus Christ saying that he was going to win a war so he changed Rome's religeon to Christianity. The birth place was in the Middle East around Isreal, Jesus was born in Bethlaham so techniquily this could be it birthplace, but Christians didn't call themselves Christians until after Christ was dead so then most to all of his fallowers were in the middle east
