Yeah, I've noticed that some furries are very tolerant and accepting of most things, but sometimes go off if anyone dares even think of making fun of them. I know not everyone is like this, I've just encountered a few that are. I haven't seen the site yet, so I may be thinking the wrong thing.

Yeah, I've see this before.
I am a Furry Fan, but I am not insulted by this. It is good to have a healthy sense of humor. It is just a whacked out exageration of things that a small fraction of the massive furry fandom actually do.
Most furry fans are not like that...but a few are...I know...I've been unfortunate enough to converse with weirdo's like those made fun of on this site. To each thier own, but yeesh...some kinds of behavior should never see the light of day...let alone be paraded at conventions and the like.
Anyway...much of this site disturbs me, but I laugh anyway. It's all in good humor. ...mostly...

as I have established before, I am a furry and fortunatly, I fall into the fist category shuan listed. I find the site funny and I am not offended by it at all. I am an extreamly accepting person (i.e. I have freinds who are gay, goth or other frowned upon groups) and find nothing wrong with it since it does not affect me either way. Yes I know some members of the furry fandom are strange and have some strange quirks/fetishes (babyfurs), but what group doesn't.
Yeah, I looked into the whole furry thing for a while, I like the idea behind it, and I'm a big fan of anthropomorphism, but some of the stranger things associated with the fandom has kept me from really calling myself a part of it. So, I'm borderline furry.
Edit: I actually found this site through furtopia.org

Furries generally are a very tolerant bunch... Of other people, but thanks to $omAwf (and their sixty-six thousand paying customers) and other related websites, critique of the fandom, especially in the form of yiff and scat jokes, are never taken nicely.Vuldari wrote:Yeah, I've see this before.

As for me, well... I'm not offended, though I sometimes think Shawn Keller wishes I was. You can tell because a lot of his animations feature furries with protest signs saying "Kill Shawn!" At the very least, the website's true downfall is it's repetativeness. Just how many fat guys riding trycicles in their underpants could there possibly be?
*nods* Yeah... Yeah, pretty much the same for me too. I suppose I could make an exception for Happy Wabbit if only for his remarkable choice of sound effects at the end, but yeah, that is pretty much the only one that's both funny and monotony-free.Figarou wrote:The only thing I found funny was "Spooky movie."

I don't get it. I'm not a furry but I don't get it. By the horible degrading of furries in that website, I think I can safely say no furries made it (being I know some will take a laugh at themselves, but not that way. How can we when we're not that?). So that poses a question, what type of freak went out of their way to make that whole website making fun of furries? Thats incredibly sad, a 'furry' is just someone who decides to call themselves that because they may have an interest in anthro animals, nothing more. Yes, it seems to form into some type of culture, just like how the Sci-fi or RPG community has created. What makes us the freaks? Furries are not pervs! Geesh!
I really didn't like that site.

Actually, Shawn Keller is a professional animator (Shark Tale, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, etc.) and, according to his FAQ, a furry himself. But... You know, you make a good point: that's a whole lot of effort he put into telling the same stale-as-hell joke about the same obscure net culture over and over again.
Meh. I dislike that sort of thing myself, though I won't go off on a rant at you for posting it in good humor. It's when people get insulting for no good reason that pisses me off.
I don't even call myself a furry these days, though there was a short period while I didn't know myself so well that I did. These days, I suppose I'm most accuratily described as a therian as represented here. That, and I simply would absolutely love to be either a werewolf or at least have a body similar to the gestalt form. But enough about that. Why WOULD someone like that go out of his way to make something like that?

I guess i am into some furry art and such i love movies like balto and the lion king but i still would not consider myself an overly furry fan..... I know nothing of any fetishes that go along with the fandom or anything like that i don't like yiff. I found this site funny yet i didn't get alot of it. i am more an anthropomorphic fan then a furry fan is there a difference heck if i know but shrugs i don't think i am a furry. Shrugs oh well cool site though.

*nods* Yeah, I didn't know a lot of the names he poked fun at... But what are the chances that Pablo Picasso or Jason Pollock could have had anything to do with Minerva Mink?Baphnedia wrote:Aye. My personal favorite:
Q: What is the most popular furry pick-up line?
A) Who boofed it?
B) My a** is hungry!
C) More tea, Vicar?
My answer:
Geez, I hope it's B. It'd be even more depressing if it were one of the other two.

Depends on what kind of sense of humor you're talking about. There is, after all, a big difference between, say, Lewis Black humor and Adam Sandler humor. . . Or Robin Williams humor and $omAwf humor.Hamster wrote:Yeah, people who don't have a sense of humor.Akela wrote:I'm not a furry but.... it's a little insulting to some people don't you think?
So if by "sense of humor" you mean "unnatural affection for fart jokes and imperviousness to redundancy," then yes, you are correct.
