Re: Your ideal werewolf
Sugarpoultry, I have a question for you regarding your werewolves. But I'm rather hesitant to ask it because, A.)It's not exactly on topic for the thread, and B.)I don't wanna get in trouble.

Re: Are we ruining werewolves?
Berserker.....I think you just nailed it. Plus, I don't believe that it HAS to be an "either/or" thing with werewolves. I know noone's actually come out & said flat out "werewolves can ONLY be portrayed as evil monsters, or they can ONLY be portrayed as noble heroic furry superheroes", but....that ...

Re: Are we ruining werewolves?
Point taken Berserker. I happened to find out about werewolves from movies & such at a rather young age and it wasn't until LATER that I discovered "Oh, wow....this wasn't just a monster that was made up for movies." And so I tend to have a default response of latching werewolves into movies first ...

Re: Are we ruining werewolves?
After some serious (ok...not THAT serious) pondering, I have to stick with my original assertion that we are NOT ruining werewolves. "Why?" you may ask....well, uhhhh, crap, now I have to do actual thinking. First off, the "old school" style of a monstrous and out of control werewolf just simply is ...

Re: Should a werewolf be able to scale walls?
Should a werewolf be able to scale walls? Hmmmmm.... I suppose it depends on what's needed for the movie/story in question. If you need them to be able to, then...yes. If not, then....probably not.

Assuming there was no doctor that was a werewolf or knew about werewolves, how would a werewolf receive medical treatment? Would there be anything that could identify them as such, like a blood test or some other abnomaly? Or perhaps when under ...

I really don't think it detracts or takes away from werewolves if there are other monsters around. Of course, that could just be because I'm a big White Wolf fan. Personally, I think it'd be pretty funny in a movie for a werewolf character to be faced with a vampire and have a reaction of, "Wait ...

Yes, I believe iconoclasm is at work here, but in a positive way.
Has the vampire legend been "ruined" by Buffy, Interview With A Vampire , and Blade ? Perhaps, in that vampires have become mundane, their conventions explained away by science, their presence ubiquitous, their mystery gone. Fear of ...

Ruining werewolves?
At first, i was attracted by the power they had, but, after seeing werewolves in a more softer tone, {Goldenwolf's artwork, for example} i found i liked the beauty of the creature far more than i liked the idea of a monster. The idea that all werewolves would be cast out, would ...

From what I could make out in reading the book, it's not having someone see a werewolf changing that gets them "stuck". It could be, but it seemed more like the werewolf got stuck between forms out of fear/panic or just sheer physical exhaustion. Plus the point is made that Non-Pack werewolves (like ...

Not a bad flick, in my opinion. I didn't really care for the book, since I hate "scientific" explanations for things like vampires, but the movie did a good job. As for the "religious overtones" in the movie...I sure didn't see any. There was one character that doesn't even show up until about 3/4 ...

Well, if I still lived close to the ocean, I guess a wereshark would be cool. But since I live in the desert now, that might not work. So...going on the assumption that since werewolves are off-limits, that also means other canines are as well (coyotes, foxes, hyenas), and in THAT case, I'd probably ...

I'm feeling too lazy to look through all of the pages, so I don't know if this has been mentioned before or not. [quote="wolf4life"]where did these like vampires come from? They just kind of get off the vampire bus, get lost, and wined up in a town where it just happens to be the first day of night.[quote]

Well, I just saw it last night & I gotta say, I really enjoyed it. Definately a very bloody movie. As for there being too many Vampire movies (as opposed, I would imagine, to Werewolf movies), I'd say thats just because, I assume, Vampire flicks would be cheaper. Just take a regular actor, "pale ...

Just curious, how old/big ARE those bears? I only ask because the pics make them look a tad on the young side. Not that age makes a difference to you if one of them happens to come charging your way, I'm just wondering how old or big they are. Plus....I'm a pretty big fan of bears (not exactly THOSE ...

Re: Vampire movies
Vamps are nowhere near as cool as werewolves, but I still like watching the ocassional vampire movie :D
Some of my favorite ones, in no order:
-Underworld/Underworld Evolution
-Interview With A Vampire
-Near Dark
-From Dusk Till Dawn
-Bram Strokers Dracula(one made around '94)
-Fright Night ...
